Causes of dementia.

  • Alzheimer’s disease develops in the brain years before symptoms develop.

  • Accumulation of abnormal proteins such as beta-Amyloid which clump between brain nerve cells cause plaques and abnormal hyperphosphorylated Tau protein cause abnormal neurofibrillary tangles, both destroy brain nerve cells

  • Dementia is not caused by “old age”!
