Mild cognitive impairment.

  • Only 20% of people over the age of 80 have what is caused “Minimal or Mild Cognitive Impairment” with a mild short-term memory loss which is not progressive and does not affect their day-to-day life.

  • However, about 10% per year of these mild cases can progress to Alzheimer’s dementia.  Those with multiple risk factors can progress by up to 20% per year to Alzheimer’s dementia.
